Early career foundation: discipline, responsibility and learning to function inside systems larger than one person.
30+ YEARS OF SEEING
WHAT BREAKS.
Tech Amelia is about 16 years old. The experience behind it reaches back to Amelia Island's early computer and internet era — through corporate IT, building and selling an earlier local technology company, and into today's managed infrastructure.
EXPERIENCE SHOULD
CHANGE HOW YOU WORK.
Thirty years is not useful because the number is large. It is useful because enough failures teach you what matters, what is noise and where systems tend to break.
Continued education before returning to a hands-on technology career.
Worked as a young technician during Amelia Island's early computer and internet years. Networks were smaller, but you had to understand them.
Worked in the corporate environment with Megg Corp, later acquired by ATS. Uptime stops being abstract when operations depend on it.
Founded and grew an earlier local technology company, then sold it. Ownership teaches accountability in a way employment cannot.
Started Tech Amelia about 16 years ago and continues leading it today across managed IT, communications, security, cloud and automation.
PROVE WHERE THE PROBLEM LIVES.
Technology changes constantly. Troubleshooting fundamentals do not: observe, isolate, verify, understand dependencies, fix the actual failure and confirm the result.
THE STACK GOT BIGGER.
Today's business problem might cross identity, cloud, endpoint, carrier, firewall, SaaS vendor and backup platform. That makes broad systems knowledge more valuable, not less.
